For over 50 years Merry Go Round Children's Store has served as the Seattle area's premier retailer for top-of-the line children's goods, clothes, furniture, toys and accessories.

Our History
Merry Go Round first opened in 1947 in downtown Seattle by then-owner George Steiner. In 1961 Steiner expanded by opening a Bellevue branch which has operated out of the same site for the 44 years. Bob Brown purchased the business in 1972 which consolidated its branches to the single store in Bellevue. Right from the beginning his daughter Molly has been a part of the store, working for her father in one way or another, and in 1999 Merry Go Round was passed from one generation to another when Molly and her husband Bob Pressey bought the business from her father. But, Molly sees it as much more than a business.

"I take great pride in our relationships with our customers. It has been such a pleasure meeting and getting to know so many wonderful families over the years. It really is one of the highlights of what we do." Over the years they have watched new families visit the store and return with their children who are ready to start their own families.

Often times a relationship with a customer will extend to up to 3 generations of family and friends as the store enjoys so many referred customers from longtime patrons. "Over the years you really begin to build an entire body of memories," says Bob Pressey.

Our Store
On August 1, 2005 Merry Go Round launched the opening of their new location at 116th Avenue NE in Bellevue "We've been searching for six years for the right spot," says Bob Pressey.

"We were absolutely thrilled about moving from a 7,000 square foot showroom to 12,000 square feet of open space to display our merchandise. Coupled with the exceptional parking at the Design Center and all of the great neighbors around us like Overlake Hospital and Whole Foods, we couldn't have asked for a better scenario.

"Buying children's products from all over the country, and the world for that matter, is the biggest difference," notes Bob. "We have to meet the needs of a very special kind of customer, so we listen very carefully to what they want. That way we offer unique, quality products for an experience that you just can't find in the chain stores."
